Sass & Bide Firefly Clutches

Sass & Bide Firefly Clutch

Of course being fashion obsessed, I’m partial to a nice clutch…but there are so many out there (and my closet is already saturated with an assortment of methods to carry my life around wherever I go) to the point where my tastes have gotten a bit more particular. Think edgy and/or whimsical but basic enough to be classic! This is the second time I’ve seen these pop up in a newsletter blast and it’s time to proclaim my love for the Sass & Bide Firefly clutches. How CUTE is this? I could see pairing this with almost any outfit, and it certainly would get a lot of use.

This brand has been on my radar for quite some time now for…you probably guessed it, their denim. In fact, I think they are just the right amount of “edge” for me. I decided to have a little fun.

Are Mom Jeans No Longer A Laughing Matter?

I’ve been a dedicated subscriber of Lucky Magazine newsletters for quite some time now…granted it’s usually because of their amazing giveaways (one of which I have won in the past…I am the proud new owner of a year’s supply of Paddywax Candles thanks to Lucky Magazine!). I’m not always partial to the style and beauty reviews but I stay glued because every now and then I see a gem or two!

We are all aware of the scary “mom jean” look when it comes to high rise jeans (although lately I’ve become less fearful after reviewing some GREAT pairs through Denimology, like my Citizens of Humanity Hutton review). But the “mom jean” look seems to have evolved away from the basic high-rise and more into…well, jeans that actually DO look like what you’d think a “mom jean” would look like. I think I can say we all pretty much still fear those.

James Jeans is a Comfortable Classic, and Vintage Coach

James Jeans Twiggy in Millenium

It’s funny after all these years of being obsessed with denim and being more partial to styles with an obvious logo on the back pocket to show off or promote my brand of choice, I’ve gone from the in-your-face look to simply finding jeans that actually FIT right. We all have that struggle when we are looking for the perfect pair of jeans but we still tend to focus more on how they make us LOOK. Anyway, I’ve realized that many of the styles that have tame or neutral back pockets seem to fit me the best, now that I’ve had a chance to work for Denimology and review several styles I was unfamiliar with (I know, with over 60 pairs of jeans, how could I still be so ignorant?).

Citizens of Humanity Review is Published on Denimology!

My Citizens of Humanity review is published on Denimology! That was pretty quick, considering I wrote it up last night! I was really excited to burst out of my skinny-jean bubble with this beautiful wide-leg (more like flare) style. They are so versatile!

Agave Jeans are Still Relevant After All These Years

Agave Jeans are Still Relevant After All These Years

Once upon a time ago, I worked at an e-commerce company that specialized in premium denim…(okay that was more like 2007 or so) including Lucky Brand and Agave. I was part of the team that designed and built Agave’s brand new website, and here I am again coming full circle with them again! I am excited to review these next. Agave Jeans are still relevant after all these years! The brand was nice enough to send me two pairs to choose from…the Delgada skinny in Gemstone Stretch and Manhattan stretch…and I chose Manhattan Stretch! Gemstone had a nice 4-way stretch to it similar to my DL1961s I reviewed not long ago, but were a bit more rigid. The Manhattan Stretch had a much softer, comfortable, buttery feel to them, and the blue has a beautiful broken in look to it. I’ll be wearing these for awhile to see how they mold to my body and the review will be done soon!

Agave jeans may not have the same popularity status as True Religion, per se, but they should! They are completely timeless and the quality is top notch!

AYR Jeans Offer Proper Customer Service and Fits

AYR Denim

When we look for the perfect jean, the perfect fit is a given…but shopping online is often a hassle because it is difficult to judge just how a new jean will fit by gazing at its glitzy photo on your computer screen! Introducing AYR, a women’s line from the same folks who brought you Bonobos, a men’s line that specializes in khakis and understands it’s not only women who despise the saggy butt syndrome. AYR jeans offer proper customer service and fits!

My latest review is now posted on Denimology! I loved YOGA jeans, which are manufactured in Canada by Canadian brand Second Clothing. I’ve worn these jeans a lot and they haven’t stretched out, sagged, or anything! Plus the yellow color is a lot of fun. This YOGA Jeans review was a lot of fun!

self-portrait dresses

Time to take a short break from the usual denim obsession and highlight another catwalk staple – the statement dress! Revolve Clothing blessed my inbox this morning with a newsletter featuring a new designer that caught my eye immediately. Check out these self-portrait dresses! I’m definitely more of a jeans and a tee shirt kind of gal, but of course I like to dress up from time to time…the problem is I’m just so damn picky when it comes to dresses. Having the creative eye that I do, I was immediately smitten by this designer, who obviously found a way to stand out in today’s highly competitive fashion world with unique cuts, textures, and color combinations which somehow, don’t clash at all. In fact, I think I could say, they “clash” beautifully. Take a look and have an eye feast…I’m still hungry! View more below after the jump.

Citizens of Humanity!

Citizens of Humanity

Surprise surprise! Just got these in from Citizens of Humanity! I had no idea what style they were going to send me, I only knew they were coming! Part of the fun of being a denim reviewer is knowing you’ll be trying on all sorts of styles apart from your normal preferences, so I’m glad I was sent a style I am not used to!

I ended up getting the Hutton wide leg, in Palais Royal!

DL1961 Review is Published on Denimology

DL1961 Grace Jean in Moscow

DL1961 Review is Published on Denimology

My DL1961 review is published on Denimology! These jeans are incredible…and this shoot was my favorite, I think! The fit is perfect for curvy or athletic shapes and incorporates a 4-way XFIT stretch technology that helps the jeans keep their shape without stretching out or becoming baggy…FINALLY! It also makes these jeans super soft. I advise every girl who’s tired of the common waistband gap in the back or the dreaded butt sag after just a few wears to check these out! I cannot wait to review more from this brand.
