American Eagle Outfitters Releases More Inclusive Jean Sizes up to 24

I am at that point now where people have caught on that I know a thing or two about jeans, and are always approaching me for advice (which is awesome). I’m often asked where a quality, well fitting jean can be found that isn’t super expensive, and I always direct people to American Eagle Outfitters! I’m actually pretty impressed by how flexible this brand has been within the denim industry, and how willing they’ve been to evolve and grow with market demands over the years. The many pairs I have from them I would say are pretty dang close to premium quality, and I love how they fit curvier shapes. They are one of the major brands that has been doing their best to be more size inclusive. About a year ago, I wrote about their move to more fits up to a size 20, and they’ve just recently expanded to more inclusive jean sizes up to 24!

Fran Denim Ivy Shorts in Black Review

Wearing Fran Denim's Ivy Shorts in Black

I can’t believe I’ve gotten this far in my blogging life without reviewing a pair of shorts! I’ve done so many product reviews featuring premium denim for Denimology and my own blog here since 2013, and yet I’ve always ended up with cropped or full-length styles (no complaints though!). I’ve worn denim shorts for many years now, ever since I got more confident with fitness (and especially weight lifting), so I guess it’s only appropriate I finally cover that area of the denim world. Speaking of weight lifting, even though many of my favorite shortie shorts from Siwy, American Eagle, True Religion and BDG still are my favorite in terms of fit every time summer comes around, I still find that as I keep up my gym routine, my body keeps changing year after year. I’ve noticed that I need higher cuts in the back, and a smaller waistband-to-hip-room ratio. I’ve been an advocate for Fran Denim ever since I discovered them, but even more now am I realizing how awesome they are for women who are serious about lifting weights! So, since I got some pretty good feedback on the post I made a little while ago about their new denim shorts for summer, I’m happy to share my Fran Denim Ivy Shorts in black review.

New Stylish Summer Bags from Madewell

New Stylish Summer Bags from Madewell

When most of us think of Summertime in the fashion sense, we probably think of bright shades, fun whimsical prints and frilly details. While there is plenty of that out there, those thoughts come primarily from our wild and free childhoods—for me, at least. These kinds of motifs aren’t hard to find for those who enjoy them as adults (Lilly Pulitzer, anyone?), but if you’re like me, you might prefer more modern, minimal, toned down earthy shades for warm weather vacations, beach parties or trips to the pool. I like darker shades, but every now and then I might bust out of my rut and go for something at least slightly more playful. While writing this, I’m thinking a lot about swimwear, but for this post I’m going to focus on another Summer addiction…bags! The excessive enjoyment I get from fashionable containment isn’t limited to any season in particular, but my taste buds just re-activated when I saw a collection of new stylish Summer bags from Madewell! I already have plenty of pieces to carry my essentials to whatever these brighter months may bring, but I guess maybe I do like some whimsy after all…in the form of styling flexibility!
