I love creative people. Etsy is one of my favorite websites because I just love perusing all the colorful passions people have in the form of art, clothing, jewelry…you name it! I used to love going out for big shopping trips, but honestly now, shopping brick and mortar shops gives me a little bit of anxiety. Shopping online is far more fun to me, one reason being I can put something aside and think about it without feeling pressured, but also because I can discover all of the independent, up-and-coming artists that better fit my tastes and definitely deserve more recognition! With all of the crap going around in the world today, it’s also theraputic to me to see the passions and talents of others shining through, and I much prefer supporting them over mass-produced goods. I also find it quite inspiring!
Festival season is coming up (and two I’m already planning for, Lucidity Festival: Eudamonia and Oregon Eclipse Gathering), so now’s the time I love jumping on to Etsy to look for fun items to wear and help these talented individuals get attention from the right communities. All of the handmade, organic clothing is one thing (which I attacked last year), but I’ve built up my festival apparel up so much that now I like looking at the little things, like jewelry and other types of body adornments. One thing I’ve had on my wishlist since last year are a few gorgeous macrame necklaces with gemstones! I went hunting again, as they had since sold out, and found a slew of other ones from artists around the world!
I always like wearing gemstones, not only for their aesthetics but what they represent in a metaphysical sense. I’m not 100% sure I buy all that but they definitely help re-center me and with meditation. I’m a big fan of amethyst, lapis lazuli and labradorite! I had in mind a design like the one up top here (which looks much like what I had seen before), but am starry eyed at how many more there are out there now…it’s so hard to choose. What do you think of these? As usual…I want them all! Don’t they look like something a faerie or tribal princess would wear?

Etsy is such an amazing place to find unique gifts for yourself or someone else…do you have a favorite store or artist? What do you look for when it comes to finding something you won’t find at a physical store?
