Edgy Styles by Genetic Denim

I guess this installment isn’t necessarily to highlight a particular product line, I was simply just admiring denim brand Genetic‘s photography for their Fall line! Most model shots that are centered on denim are pretty straight forward, leaving the styling up to you…but Genetic went all out in styling up their models to give you some ideas on how to style their jeans! I love the edgy look to all of them and the color combinations, and it makes me wish they were selling the whole outfits in package deals! Right? I only have one pair of jeans from Genetic Denim, which is the Shane fit. It’s an older one, and while comfortable I still do need a belt with them as I think they were made for more streamlined body shapes at the time. But lately I’ve been admiring a lot of what they’ve been coming out with, including the collaboration with model Liberty Ross in August (Check out the line here!).

Genetic Denim: The Shane in Rustic, The James in Rival, The Phoenix in Divine

Genetic is a well-known veteran brand in the denim world, even though they were born fairly recently, in 2007. They still stick to the basics, but as you can see, they have a lot of awesome, more edgy styles! Right up my alley. They seem to be playing more with textures and patterns lately! Every denim brand has a cool back story, and I find that of Genetic to be particularly interesting, in regards to their Founder and Creative Director, Ali Fatourechi. From their website: “With a desire to understand the true psyche of a woman, in 2005, Fatourechi embarked on a grass-roots mobile clothing tour, visiting 42 cities across America analyzing and studying his subjects. In what became an intimate journey, Fatourechi was able to encounter all different types of women, gaining an invaluable understanding of a woman’s psychology when looking at herself in the mirror. Through this tour, he used the information that he compiled to develop his subconscious muse and form the concept of GENETIC.” Today, the brand is still charging forward full speed, using the softest Italian, Japanese and Turkish fabrics. I need to get my hands on one of these newer styles soon!
