Mavi Jeans Tess Super Skinny in Rinse SuperSoft Review

Here we go with the fifth and last (but definitely not least) review I’ve got for you from Mavi‘s awesome Fall denim collection. These all have been absolutely some of the best jeans I’ve ever gotten the privilege of reviewing, and I hope you liked them too! Every time I work with this brand I am consistently impressed with their constantly improving quality, fits and overall style and feel. Looking back, I’ve shared the Tess Super Skinny in Indigo SuperSoft, Adriana Ankle Super Skinny in Mid Cheeky, the Tess in Ink Stripe, and the Alissa Super Skinny in Dark Smoke Supersoft. I’m going to go back to the classics again with this next one here: the Tess Super Skinny in Rinse SuperSoft. Everyone needs that staple jean that will take them from the office to cocktails or from a nice dinner to dancing with ease, and this one fits the bill, both in comfort and that ever-coveted asset-enhancing factor!

Just a quick summary about Mavi as I’ve been including in all my reviews with them so far: the brand was born in 1991 in Istanbul, Turkey and quickly became one of the top premium denim brands out there. If you remember, most of the household name brands like True Religion or 7 For All Mankind emerged in the early 2000s, which means Mavi definitely has some strong staying power! This is no surprise to me due to the fact that they excel in the department of high quality, timeless, comfortable premium-level wardrobe essentials that are kinder on your wallet than most high end premium brands. Mavi knows how to work the trends without looking like just another denim brand, adding their own creative license to everything and even formulating their own fabric blends, like the SuperSoft fabric which now is featured in much of their current Fall/Winter line. Most of these reviews from Mavi featured this luxuriously soft, stretchy, flattering fabric that keeps its shape over multiple wears, and the Tess Super Skinny in Rinse SuperSoft is also made up of it. Years ago, activewear took over the apparel industry and denim took a hit as consumers opted for the comfort of leggings instead of denim, so since then, brands have been reinventing their denim to stay competitive. Mavi’s done a few since then, including Feather by Mavi Gold and Indigo Move, and as all smart brands do, they continued their innovation and came out with the all new SuperSoft line. This fabric is developed with TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers which “offers superior fit retention, structure, and stretch.” TENCEL is also eco-friendly, regenerated from wood cellulose from eucalyptus trees that are grown sustainably on farms. In addition, it’s biodegradable and compostable. It has a nice clean sheen to it, breathes, and does not restrict your movement.

The Tess Super Skinny in Rinse SuperSoft is, as mentioned, a steamlined, classic dark rinse jean with no fading or worn-in detailing, and is the perfect out-on-the-town piece to leave you feeling smokin’. It features gorgeous bold, contrast orange stitching like you’ve probably seen on more pricey pieces from other brands, and a high 10″ front rise to accentuate your curves and waist. They fit slim all the way down from the waist, hugging your assets without strangling them. They are slightly cropped so you can sport your favorite pair of pumps with them, or wear them with a tall pair of boots this Fall. I received my usual size of 26 and although they fit a little snug at first, they softened up so wonderfully within a few hours of wear. Just as the SuperSoft fabric promises, these jeans haven’t stretched out in the least bit, and allow me to take my stretching breaks in the office! They really truly make me feel great, and although I have other jeans that look like them (cuz duh, I’m a blogger), the fabric and fit does all the talking. They are a new favorite for sure. I don’t think I need to get into how to style these, as most ladies are always on the hunt for a dark clean classic style like this for the hottest of hot dates, but my first though is how amazing they’ll look under a long sweater tunic and my tall brown Frye boots this winter. Bring on the cooler weather!
