MIA & MOSS Camden Crop Skinny in Medium Blue on Denimology
For those who have read my previous reviews, you know how I’ve always felt about cropped jeans. I always thought they only looked best on tall, svelte models. I’m more muscular and athletic, so I always felt like cropped jeans did nothing for me but shorten my legs in a not-so-flattering way. Lately though, I’ve been thinking differently with a lot of the great cropped jeans I’ve had a chance to review lately (and the ever-warming California weather gets a little credit too)! Cropped jeans are the typical summer staple for most denim fans, allowing you to show off your manicure and cute new sandals, and to stay a little cooler or wade around at the beach. I think I’ve fallen just a little bit more for the cropped jean trend, with this MIA & MOSS Camden Crop Skinny in Medium Blue review!
MIA & MOSS is a fairly new denim brand that I was unfamiliar with until I was asked to do some reviews for them! The company resides in denim-savvy Los Angeles, California, and prides itself in its unique fabric blends that give each of its denim masterpieces the feeling of cashmere. Each piece is also cut to offer streamlined fit, all the way down to the subtle details. MIA & MOSS constructs “jeans are a shock to the senses in the best possible way.” The brand actually sent me four of their jeans for review. I was sent size 27 across the board, even though I specified 26, but when I tried them all on they were all snug! So, if you would like to try out this brand, I’d size up! It’s always nice to see that some brands know exactly how their jeans run. None of them have stretched out, either!
The MIA & MOSS Camden Crop Skinny in Medium Blue came to me rolled up in cuffs, and I left it that way! I thought the cuffs were super cute. The blue is a pretty vibrant light shade, with subtle fading in the usual areas. I also like the contrast orange stitching. Just like the brand promises, these are super soft at 78% cotton, 20% polyester and 2% spandex without too much stretch, and they are a more lightweight denim which makes them a perfect summer jean. They have a mid rise of 8 1/4″ with a contour waistband which fits perfectly up over my hips with no gapping, and they stay put! Like all MIA & MOSS jeans, the Camden Crop Skinny in Medium Blue relies on its fit and comfort as a selling point rather than excessive detailing—the contrast orange stitching, leather back waistband label and branded rivets are all it needs to be a great crop jean for summer at a price that won’t break the bank!
