Happy New Year everyone! I’m back from my holiday hiatus, and I hope everyone had a great one. I haven’t written much about denim in awhile, so lets get back to it. Just like I’m sure everyone’s 2019 was, the denim industry is constantly going through highs, lows and periods of “meh.” When it exploded in the early 2000s, it was all the rage, and since it was a fairly new thing, it was easy to come up with new trends and wild new styles. These last few years we saw so many rather interesting “trends” pop up on the market (see some from 2017, 2018, and 2019), that perplexed our style senses as brands tried their hardest to come up with something more unique than anyone else. However, trends come and go, and when it really comes down to it, all we ever want are jeans that fit well! Our bodies are all different, so shopping for the most flattering and comfortable pair is difficult, even for us fitness heads. It’s always awesome to see a well known brand go back to basics from time to time, so for this post I’m going to introduce the new Lucky Brand Sculpt-Ed Jeans.
I’m sure we all know Lucky Brand, right? They were one of the first on the market, always trying to offer your classic comfortable blue jean while others did their best to poke their heads into the mainstream pop culture world. I’d say they were a little like Levi’s, but a little less workwear and more on the stylish side at the time, like Levi’s is now. Just about every brand eventually ventured into the stretchy form-fitting fabrics and competed against each other for the title of “best fitting jeans,” as they still are, but it’s interesting to see each one reinventing themselves with new lines claimed to fit even better. Lucky Brand has just released their new Sculpt-Ed jeans, made for endless movement and to perfectly show off your every curve. In addition, staying conscious to one of the other banes of every denim fan’s existence, these jeans are also meant to keep their shape without stretching or bagging out over time. The brand is definitely staying close to the basics with three of their top selling brands: the Ava, Bridgette and Lolita, in both high and low rise skinny and bootcut styles. As someone who lifts weights, I have a fairly curvy shape with a bigger bum and smaller waist, and I’ve loved the fits of Lucky Brand since I first tried them over ten years ago. So with that said, I’d say these are worth a try, and I hope to get my hands on a pair soon!
