I still have absolutely no idea why I’ve never bought anything from Nasty Gal…considering I’ve been a fan of Sophia Amoruso and her story of rising from the ashes (despite recent unfortunate events), and the fact that almost everything there fits my taste. I really have no good explanation for it. I mean, I’ve already written three posts about this popular shop—beautiful pieces from their holiday collection three years ago, their collaboration with Courtney Love last year, and some of my favorite picks from their 40% off sale earlier this year. Everything Nasty Gal carries is either fun and spunky or ornate and detailed. All of it is eye candy, for sure.
As I’m sure most of you already know, the brand was founded on vintage fashion, but not really everything on the site currently reflects that, and reflects more of a party animal or trendy vibe instead. However, Nasty Gal definitely stays true to its roots with plenty of vintage inspired goodness. However, they just recently introduced a new shop that truly screams vintage glam: Nasty Gal Studio. Seriously these pieces are amazing! The detailing is something else…and although it offers all sorts of fancy girly items, there are plenty of dark and edgy ones too—just for people like me. Shop dresses, rompers, jumpsuits, bodysuits and top & pants sets that look like they came right out of the prime years of high couture. I am totally drooling over the Donna Embellished Jumpsuit and Isabella Velvet Romper, even though I’m usually not one for rompers or jumpsuits…or velvet! I would totally rock the Ella Embellished Maxi Dress too.
Here are my favorite items out of the new Nasty Gal Studio collection (the dark ones, of course).
