While brainstorming post ideas, I thought about all of the posts I’ve been proud of in the past, and thought it would be nice to come up with a way to bring them back up to the forefront before they are lost in blogging purgatory. Last week, I brought up an old review I did for the James Jeans Twiggy jean, to highlight the fact that it’s a great skinny jean for curvier shapes. My thought is, every now and then I’ll bring up another to show off new styles that are currently available in the featured style. They’ve all been awesome jeans, and I wouldn’t have had the chance to discover them if it weren’t for my reviewer stint at Denimology! So, why not give them a second time to shine?
This time, I’m talking about the Citizens of Humanity Avedon skinny. As mentioned in the last post, sometimes it can be a bit daunting for curvier or more athletic shapes to attempt to rock one, but I say, hogwash! There’s a jean made for every body, in every style as well. The Avedon, being a skinnier, lower rise jean, might appear like it’s a bit more limited in the body type department, but it’s worth taking a closer look. When I first tried the Avedon jean probably five or six years ago, the fit was…not so great for me. As you can see, I am a bit more on the athletic and muscular side (I’m a lifter, runner, etc), so I usually need either some stretch or for the legs to be on the bigger side. The pair I tried on in the past was great in the waist, but waaayyy way too skinny in the legs! When I had the chance to try it on for a Denimology review (in the Chromatic wash), I was quite impressed! The fit and fabric were MUCH improved. It does have an 8 1/4″ low rise, but as you can see it fits tightly enough over my hips to stay in place, and it does all day. They also haven’t ever stretched out (and this review was in 2014). As I’ve read in numerous other reviews no retail sites, there are definitely more ladies with my type of body who are totally in love with the Avedon. So, there’s no harm in giving it a go! I’m actually drooling over another pair. The other thing I love about Citizens of Humanity are their bold and BEAUTIFUL vintage-inspired washes!

And another great thing about this style, is that it’s also available in maternity fits with elastic belly panels! There’s even one meant to help sculpt your bum through all nine months…

What do you think? Are there any other skinny styles you’d like me to showcase? Are you still looking for your perfect pair? Do you have a favorite? Next, I’ll feature some cuts other than skinny, so stay tuned.
