Cobalt Blue for Spring and Summer
Cobalt blue (or royal blue, whichever you prefer)…such an eye-popping color. Blue is by far my favorite color. It’s scientifically soothing, and makes me think of places like Greece. Clothing wise, it is a pretty sought-after color, so it seems anything of quality is tough to come by in this color unless you plan to drop some serious cash…especially in the realm of handbags. In my photo above, I’m rocking my Lucky Brand Charlie skinnies I found at TJ Maxx awhile back. While such a bold color is tougher to style than my usual taste of more neutral colors, I’ll usually default to black, but this random green and black top worked just fine.
I’ve been craving a cobalt blue leather slouchy hobo for awhile now…I carry the now-discontinued black leather Coach Zoe bag, which is amazing. Seriously, I don’t give a crap about Coach itself (in a pretentious way, I mean), I just crave quality, and after finding this gem on eBay for $100 about three years ago, its proved to be the only bag I’ve ever had that really holds up. I think it came in cobalt also (at least the medium one did) but it’s incredibly hard to find. I’m also a big fan of Foley & Corinna! I have the Disco City bag in Aubergine, but have been eyeing its larger counterpart in the featured color of this post, the Mid-City Tote in Cobalt. YUMMY. Unfortunately it’s been discontinued, but again, sometimes eBay is my friend. Soon, it will be mine. Oh yes.
This isn’t exactly cobalt, but I’m throwing it in because of how PRETTY it is. Again, for anyone not familiar with Proenza Schouler, this bag is on the higher end, costing a cool $1,695.00. This is the very popular PS1 Medium Leather Satchel Bag in Rip Tide. Someday, right? For something that will actually last you for a long time. Really now, I’d rather pay for quality, because over time as you repeatedly purchase new bags as your old cheaper ones fall apart, you are eventually paying a lot of money anyway, and I hate parting with things that I’ve carried around or worn and loved for awhile. Just my two cents. But for now, Foley & Corinna will have to suffice…and there are no complaints there.
Cobalt is just a fun color in any item…here’s a few more items that I could see myself strutting around with, or in:
