Denim is such a special fabric! You can do just about anything with it…durable enough for almost any kind of abuse and resistance to unraveling opens the door to all kinds of possibilities, even crafty DIY ones. I’ve written a lot about my fascination with it, sharing beautiful denim furniture, glasses, artwork, watches, shoes and more (see that post here). It makes some pretty awesome bags, too!
Shopbop is my favorite source for unique curated collections, and this one especially caught my eye for obvious reasons. This particular one, Outside-the-Box Denim, is full of some incredibly cool and creative pieces made from various denim washes, like tops, bags, shoes, dresses, jackets and so much more. I’ve picked out my favorites below. It was a tough choice! I especially am enamored by the DSQUARED2 Inside Out Dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Chevron Victoria Denim Jacket (below) and how cute are those MICHAEL Michael Kors London Platform Sandals?! I love all the raw hems (as usual), asymmetrical edges and the layered gradient effects like that seen in the Georgia Alice Oh Hunny Dress. The Helmut Lang Denim Trench and above image both demonstrate another trend I was going to write about soon in a separate post: denim trench coats. Move over, double denim! These pieces make dressing in head to toe denim effortless and incredibly chic (and not quite as cheesy).
